There is a really interesting blog called “Fluent Forever” that aids foreign language learners in tricks, tips and techniques to guide them to achieving fluency “quickly” and efficiently. Windows didn’t start using the clouds background until the release of Windows 95 on August 24, 1995, seven years later.

And didn’t start using the Bliss background until the release of Windows XP on August 24, 2001, thirteen years later.

So this means only one thing:

The Windows desktop backgrounds are a tribute to Tasha Yar, rather than the other way around.
